The Bathing House
HOWICK, NORTHUMBERLAND, THE BATHING HOUSE
The Bathing House, part of the original Earl Grey Estate, is perched on the headland at Howick, and is a well-known land mark. I wanted to focus on the foreground of this shot, showing the thick textured grasses, and less on the house, to demonstrate both a sense of place, and illustrate the isolation and privacy of the building. This image is from a series I have treated in various ways to emulate old film processes, or for artistic effect. ( Canon G9, 1/250th sec, f8)
