The Charles W Morgan

The Charles W Morgan

The Whaling Bark Charles W Morgan was built in New Bedford, Massachusetts 1841, being of 314 tons and a length of 105 feet. Both ship and crew endured many years of hard and dangerous work, these old whale ships were sturdily built. They carried large amounts of heavy equipment and food provisions, enough to sustain voyages of up to five years long.

The only surviving vessel of its type, this famous old whaler is now moored in the Mystic Seaport Museum, Connecticut.
