Winter Sun Bigg Market

During the late 70's and early 80’s when working as a Visualiser in the Graphic Design department of the Evening Chronicle, on some days I used to sometimes go upstairs onto the flat roof and have lunch. I decided to paint this view on a particularly cold day when the snow was still on the rooftops.

The Monument shown in the bottom right has now been moved to the top of the Bigg Market, I also included one of Newcastle's famous yellow buses.
