It was the light in this painting, that I particularly wanted to capture. The bright sunlight shone through the delicate flowers and plunged the hedgerow behind into deep shadow, creating curvaceous shapes in many different shades and hues of Blue. I deliberately painted this with bold strokes to emphasise the strength and energy of these much loved flowers
