I am a self-taught artist living in the North East, where I am inspired by the beauty and tranquilly of this amazing part of England

I have been painting for over 25 years, and started out by painting Northumbrian Castles in watercolour for my daughter’s school to raise funds on sports day. Little did I know that I would be still painting today and loving every minute.

Later, I progressed to working in oils, and remember thinking to myself at the time, ‘how forgiving they were’.

When I am painting, I lose all track of time and seem to drift away to another place.

There are few things I enjoy more, than listening to a favourite piece of music while painting. I get a huge feeling of satisfaction when the painting is finally finished and I am happy with the outcome.
